Beaune 1er Cru Montrevenots, Jean Monnier et Fils
Add to favouritesThe Monnier family have been vignerons and winemakers in the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy since 1720. Their wines from Meursault, Beaune, Volnay and Pommard all have a sense of place where the unique ‘terroir’ shows through. Not surprisingly therefore wine critic Robert Parker called this ‘an estate whose wines I recommend with much enthusiasm’.
This red Beaune 1er Cru Montrevenots (there is a white which is equally delicious) is an impressive wine with wonderful aromatics of ripe red fruits mixed with hints of truffle and exotic spice. The elegant, silky palate has cherry and raspberry flavours with subtle oak and liquorice hints. These complex flavours linger long on the finish.
Now reaching its drinking peak, it will drink well for another 5 to 8 years.
