Baron de Pardo Rioja Crianza – Organic

This is a new label for us produced by the renowned Bodegas Bagordi. This family owned producer is committed to sustainable, organic viticulture across all their vineyards. The top wines have the power and structure to age beautifully, but the Carcar family wanted to open up their wines to a wider audience with an approachable, food-friendly wine that had all the character of good Rioja in a modern, fruit-forward style – and at a great price.

The Baron de Pardo was the result. This is a remarkable wine that delivers beautiful fruit flavours, well-judged oak ageing and good freshness from organic grapes produced in a small, state of the art winery. Those who have tried it have marvelled at its value for money and we highly recommend it not just to Rioja lovers, but to anyone searching for well-priced organic wine.

A blend of mainly Tempranillo with a little Mazuelo and Graciano, this wine was aged 12 months in French oak barrels. The result is a harmonious blend with vivid black fruit flavours, notes of cherry and vanilla spice and a pleasantly persistent finish. Smooth and rounded this is a most enjoyable wine.

By the way, the name of the wine comes from a Romantic traveller of the 19th century who ventured out to new horizons in search of adventure and fulfilment. And we are sure you will not be disappointed!
