Rosu de Gitana, Rara Neagra Cabernet

From the historic wine region of Moldova this smooth, savoury red is a blend of 85% Rara Neagra and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker, Nicola Tucci, fermented the wine in open oak vats but it was then matured in stainless steel to preserve the fruit. Additional complexity was gained through battonage. The resulting wine is balanced, silky with bramble fruit flavours and a hint of spice. The tannins are soft and ripe.

Remarkably Bordeaux-like with a bit of a Eastern twist, this is a wine to enjoy on its own or with red meats.
