Hautes-Cotes de Beaune, Domaine Molliard Grivot
Add to favouritesThe Moillard family have been vineyards and winemakers in Nuits-Saints-Georges since before the French Revolution in 1789. The real growth however came in 1850 when Symphorien Moillard bought in his first wines to satisfy an important order too important that he couldn’t meet from his own Domain wines. Since then the Domaine has crafted an enviable reputation for fine wines across the appellations of Burgundy.
This Hautes-Cotes de Beaune is a blend from vineyards across the Beaune region. It has attractive aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry and minerals wit a hint of smoke. Lively attack on the palate with rounded, generous flavours and a smooth, well-defined finish. Excellent value for red Burgundy.
Good food pairings include white meats such as rabbit, lamb and duck, grilled meats and medium strong cheeses such as camembert, Saint Paulin. Also rather exciting with salty / sweet or slightly spicy dishes (orange duck, tagines …).
